Collocations with causal verbs in Russian and Italian languages. The contribution presents a corpus-driven description of collocations containing causal verbs in Russian and Italian languages. The study analyses individual semantic characteristics of both languages in conveying the meaning of cause. The collocations are arbitrary by nature and as such do not have direct formal equivalents in different languages calling for comparative studies carried out on vast corpora. In this paper, collocations are extracted from the Russian National Corpus, the Corpus della Repubbica and CORIS/CODIS, and the semantic fields of causal verbs are outlined in two languages. The analysis identifies important interlinguistic variations and similarities that prove the assumption of arbitrariness and various degrees of their fixedness. The last part of the paper focuses on a case study of collocations with the verb причинять-причинить / causare (to cause), characterized by numerous interlinguistic asymmetries.

Abstract
The last part of the paper focuses on a case study of collocations with the verb причинять-причинить / causare (to cause), characterized by numerous interlinguistic asymmetries.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
