La metamorfosi del Partito Popolare Europeo

The contribution traces the evolution of the European People’s Party. It describes its historical roots, the moments of creation and development, up to its metamorphosis which took place starting from the nineties of the twentieth century. Since its creation in 1976, the history of the Party has been torn between the hope of representing the space for a common ideological elaboration and operational coordination of the Christian democratic parties of the European continent and the risk of becoming only an electoral instrument in view of the appointments of the European elections.
