In late 2019, a new kind of virus was first detected in the Wuhan City of Hubei Province of China. Thence, it rapidly spread around the world, creating havoc and provoking fear, as the world population was found to be highly susceptible for the virus. While some developed no or mild symptoms, many suffered severe malady, and a significant number died. Governments around the world declared state-of-emergency restrictions to the movement of people and goods. One of the industries to be affected seriously was fashion and garment production. This paper offers a big picture of what the consequences of the pandemic for the global fashion system have been, and what might be in store for it in the post-Covid future.
