The aim of this paper is to brie!y analyse the concept of “hostile city” and the political consequences of the hostilisation of urban spaces. The essay aims to show how and why current con"gurations of urban space are problematic in relation to the moral and political standards of a fully realized democracy. To this end, the essay tries to hold together a generally normative approach and an immanent critique of urban space.
