This comprehensive review examines scientific contributions that utilize the Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students’ Survey (GUESSS) dataset to explore student entrepreneurship. The GUESSS project, a large-scale global research initiative, gathers data on entrepreneurial attitudes and activities of students across 54 countries. Using bibliometric techniques, 73 publications by 158 authors, published in 46 journals, and referencing 2287 citations were analyzed. Four main thematic clusters were identified: i) the higher education research cluster, exploring the impact of entrepreneurship education and university context on students’ entrepreneurial intentions; ii) the career intention cluster, examining factors influencing students’ intent to pursue self-employment or family business succession; iii) the student entrepreneurship-related research cluster, investigating the effects of causation and effectuation logics, family factors, and individual and environmental characteristics on students’ entrepreneurial intentions and behaviors; iv) the cultural and socio-economic research cluster, studying the influence of culture, innovation, and economic development on students’ entrepreneurial decisions. The review concludes by discussing the limitations, gaps, and future research directions in the field of student entrepreneurship.
