The book was born from a complex ten-years research program conducted on the themes of the policies and the integration paths of foreigners in central Tuscany. Specifically, the contribution of Gaia Peruzzi proposes to illustrate how and why mixed marriages represent an important indicator in the paths of integration of male and female migrants. In the first part the book proposes a close examination of the theoretical concepts that frame the debate around sentimental mixing, defining "mixed marriages" as an indicator of communication between cultures. The next paragraphs propose a view of the dynamics of interaction among different national groups residing in the metropolitan area of Firenze-Prato-Pistoia, utilising statistics on bi-national marriages as provided by the registry office of each municipality.

Abstract
The book was born from a complex ten-years research program conducted on the themes of the policies and the integration paths of foreigners in central Tuscany. Specifically, the contribution of Gaia Peruzzi proposes to illustrate how and why mixed marriages represent an important indicator in the paths of integration of male and female migrants. In the first part the book proposes a close examination of the theoretical concepts that frame the debate around sentimental mixing, defining "mixed marriages" as an indicator of communication between cultures. The next paragraphs propose a view of the dynamics of interaction among different national groups residing in the metropolitan area of Firenze-Prato-Pistoia, utilising statistics on bi-national marriages as provided by the registry office of each municipality.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
