The reader is introduced to the Art of Satellite Remote Sensing through practical considerations. Satellite observations from space cover large areas and provide more frequent information through continuous measurements that offer information on when, where and how much it rains or snows around the world. Earth observation satellites carry numerous instruments designed to observe specific atmospheric features such as water droplets and ice particles. These observations are detailed enough for scientists to distinguish between rain, snow and other types of precipitation, as well as observe the structure, intensity and dynamics of storms. This data is also fed into the weather forecast models that meteorologists use to issue weather warnings.

Abstract
The reader is introduced to the Art of Satellite Remote Sensing through practical considerations. Satellite observations from space cover large areas and provide more frequent information through continuous measurements that offer information on when, where and how much it rains or snows around the world. Earth observation satellites carry numerous instruments designed to observe specific atmospheric features such as water droplets and ice particles. These observations are detailed enough for scientists to distinguish between rain, snow and other types of precipitation, as well as observe the structure, intensity and dynamics of storms. This data is also fed into the weather forecast models that meteorologists use to issue weather warnings.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
