This paper presents the preliminary results of a research testing the analysis of the data acquired by a multispectral camera transported by a UAV and their reading and interpretation in the context of the archaeological diagnostics. The existing scientific literature on proximity remote sensing using multiband sensors always refers to sporadic tests, carried out in random phenological, meteorological and vegetational conditions. On the basis of monthly tests in the urban area of V eii, considering therefore all the variables of the state of vegetational growth, the acquired multiband images were processed to extract the NDVI index, which has strong similarities with the crop marks of the classical photointerpretation. Although in a still not conclusive phase of the research, some aspects related to the data acquisition methodology are identified.
