The paper introduces fourteen scholarly essays, which investigate the concept of epigraphic forgery and the difference between forgery and counterfeiting and their relations with the creation and implementation of a database (EDF) entirely dedicated to non-genuine inscriptions, i.e. Greek and Latin inscriptions made in the post-classical era reproducing models of the Roman period with malicious or simply imitatative purposes. The creation and implementation of EDF has shown the importance of a network for studing epigraphic forgery and of a link among the researches of scholars who study different part of the Roman world giving them an investigative tool suitable for the needs of Digital Humanities.

Abstract
The paper introduces fourteen scholarly essays, which investigate the concept of epigraphic forgery and the difference between forgery and counterfeiting and their relations with the creation and implementation of a database (EDF) entirely dedicated to non-genuine inscriptions, i.e. Greek and Latin inscriptions made in the post-classical era reproducing models of the Roman period with malicious or simply imitatative purposes. The creation and implementation of EDF has shown the importance of a network for studing epigraphic forgery and of a link among the researches of scholars who study different part of the Roman world giving them an investigative tool suitable for the needs of Digital Humanities.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
