Thermal comfort in the outdoors is crucial in determining wellbeing and safety for pedestrians. While many external factors influence thermal comfort, pedestrians can actively improve it by modifying their clothing. This chapter focuses on the role of clothing towards thermal comfort in the built environment and aims to give a comprehensive overview on how clothing acts on the human body and how it is fundamental in thermal indices’ determination.
