The 2022 edition of the International Conference on Advanced Visual Interfaces (Frascati, June 8-10, 2022) received 62 long-paper submissions and 27 short-paper submissions on a wide range of HCI-related topics, including interactive devices and interaction, information visualization, virtual and augmented reality, user studies, social care, security, design, end-user development, car, and driving. We accepted 15 long papers (24.2\% acceptance rate) and 15 out of the 27 short papers. We also accepted eleven additional long papers as short papers, totaling 41 high-quality oral presentations. In addition, 30 posters and eight demos were accepted by the program committee, completing the technical presentations. Invited speakers of this edition were: Alan Dix, Swansea University, Wales, UK, with the keynote "Follow your nose: history frames the future."Stephen Brewster, University of Glasgow, UK, with the keynote "eXtended Reality and Passengers of the Future."Kristina H\"{o}\"{o}k, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden, with the keynote "Soma Design ? Intertwining Aesthetics, Ethics, and Movement." A vibrant workshop- and tutorial session offered a forum to discuss exciting challenges: AVI 2022 hosted ten workshops and three tutorials in parallel on Monday and Tuesday, the 6th and 7th of June.
