This article proposes an examination of both topical and systemic pharmacological treatments, taking into account what is present in the literature, useful in the treatment of vulvodynia. Vulvodynia is a neuroinflammatory pain syndrome caused by laxity and thus collapse of the uterosacral ligaments (USL), which are necessary for the support of the sympathetic and parasympathetic visceral nerve plexuses.
