Abstract
Aristophanes in Wealth (ll. 797 ff.) says that it is not proper for a poet to draw the audience to his side with distributions of figs and nibbles. The scholium on the passage notes that here the poet is speaking against his rivals, who used these tricks to win the audience. Eratosthenes (fr. 100 Strecker) is quoted at the end of the scholium: he observed that this behaviour must have been encouraged by the poet/producer himself and not by the choregos.File allegati a questo prodotto
