Dalla parte dei vinti. La ricerca di Paola Zancani Montuoro e Umberto Zanotti Bianco

Zancani Montuoro and Zanotti Bianco have chosen as their field of research an archaeology so far from the nationalistic interests of the Thirties of the XXth century. They have done this choice with the awareness of sharing cultural instances, irreconcilable with any form of totalitarian regime and propaganda. This paper would like to reflect on how archaeological research in the South of Italy has become a way of resistance, naturally opposed – thanks to the arguments of material evidence – to the authoritarian and xenophobic vision that was spread during the fascist regime.
