Una Quantum 2022 Conference “Tecnologie Open Source per i Beni, le Attività Culturali e il Turismo”

Open resources are increasingly used in Preventive Archaeology, following a trend that is cer-tainly more widespread, but which in this application field is useful and effective. On the one hand, in fact, we are witnessing the definition of standards increasingly devoted to open source which derive directly from ministerial directives, both at a central and peripheral level, to guar-antee standardization and interoperability in data management. On the other hand, in the pre-liminary archaeological risk assessment phase, the use of "ancillary" data that is not immediately available and consulted, but which increasingly populates the open-source repositories of the web, is increasingly necessary. How are we prepared to use open-source resources in Preventive Archaeology? What are the opportunities ahead, but also the main limits that have not yet been overcome?
