Le fonti del vidal nodrimento di Dante attraverso il progetto Hypermedia Dante Network

The article presents Hypermedia Dante Network, a project aimed at representing the knowledge about the primary sources of Dante’s Commedia through Web Semantic technologies and within the Linked Open Data paradigm. First, I emphasize the extent to which literature shapes Dante’s representation of food and nutrition; I then proceed to show the premises, the goals, and the expected outcomes of HDN. Finally, I describe the formal model implemented to conceptualize intertextual knowledge about Dante’s Commedia as it is put forward by seven centuries of commentaries: I provide a definition for the main classes and properties and a selection of examples relevant to the semantic field of nutrition, in order to show the crucial role of intertextual analysis in our understanding of Dante’s relationship to food.
