This work aims: a) to fill a theoretical gap in the existing literature; b) to show, through an organisational lens, how some of Pacces' ideas were not only exceptional for his time but still relevant today - confirming his extraordinary vision - and harbinger of important implications for the managerial world; c) to stimulate intellectual debate and the proliferation of research. The methodology consists of 2 techniques: 1) Critical analysis of the overall literature attributable to the Author; 2) Use over a decade (2009-2019) of qualitative techniques: 50 semi-structured interviews with Senior/Middle Management, participant observation to gather empirical evidence from an Italian company, homogeneous (in terms of size, geographical context, type of industrial sector) to the one studied by F.M. Pacces. The originality lies in the organisational focus, never before used in the Professor's study, and in the lengthy managerial applicability test. With reference to the implications, the tools, not only conceptual, indicated by Pacces to improve organisational practices could be used by managers with a view to continuous improvement. The uniqueness of the reality observed (of a singular industrial sector, albeit similar to the one studied by the author) limits, however, the possibility of making generalisations, constituting the spur for future research in other industrial sectors
