The users’ perception of Healthcare Open Space: What are the common threads?

The chpater compares the results of the seven cases studies related to the use of the Hospital Outdoor Spaces. The data collected through the questionnaires and the on-site observation allowed to use a hybrid deductive-inductive approach in the final qualitative synthesis. The method applied for commenting on all data types follows these criteria: - systematize the characteristics of the ‘sample’ (Size, Sex, Age, and Type) - extract the significant ‘close’ answers - extract the significant answers from the ‘open questions’ - compare the data - group and comment on the main themes. The data commented on below should be read by comparing the features of each hospital case, where the surroundings, type, and distribution of buildings generate different possibilities for using the outdoor space.
