Social media as a tool to estimate the value of cultural ecosystem services of urban green areas: a preliminary analysis in a geographical key. Geotagged social media data (SM) are a tool that has been recently found to be useful and robust for estimating the frequentation of natural areas. A growing body of research uses SMD to estimate the value of cultural ecosystem services (SEC) provided by urban green spaces, using SMD-detected frequentation as a proxy for perceived quality for each SEC (aesthetic appreciation, recreation etc.). However, studies to date focus on estimating SEC individually: there is a lack of a comprehensive, theoretical framework as an operational guide in this emerging field of research. In this article, preliminary to a more in-depth analysis, we provide a theoretical-introductive framework as a basis for a forthcoming quantitative review on the topic.

Abstract
In this article, preliminary to a more in-depth analysis, we provide a theoretical-introductive framework as a basis for a forthcoming quantitative review on the topic.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
