In a logic of diffusion of the territorial health services dedicated to the long-term care of the frail elderly with limited self-sufficiency affected by chronic pathologies, the ‘home’ becomes an important node of the infrastructural care network. Existing housing will need to be re-evaluated in terms of its suitability and adaptability to accommodate new use scenarios related to treatments to ensure higher levels of safety, comfort, and usability to improve the quality of life for carers and facilitate the caregivers’ tasks. In line with this context, the proposed contribution relates to an ongoing research project on adapting existing housing to accommodate and facilitate home care activities. The research aims to define the criteria according to which to establish a hierarchy of priorities for adaptation interventions and then investigate the applicability of innovative computer-based design approaches to implement multi-criteria assessments (through multi-criteria decision analysis - MCDA techniques) of the different alternative intervention scenarios in support of choosing the most appropriate technical solutions.

Abstract
The research aims to define the criteria according to which to establish a hierarchy of priorities for adaptation interventions and then investigate the applicability of innovative computer-based design approaches to implement multi-criteria assessments (through multi-criteria decision analysis - MCDA techniques) of the different alternative intervention scenarios in support of choosing the most appropriate technical solutions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
