Il modello ROJO: origine, evoluzione, casi paralleli e possibili applicazioni della Street Observation

In 1986, the manifesto of the Street Observation Society was presented in Tokyo. The Rojo Kansatsu Gakkai (in short ROJO), through sessions of empirical survey (but conducted in a scientific way), aimed at extrapolating from the urban fabric heterogeneous objects of study with a common denominator: the shift of meaning. The observation of ROJO’s way, and of forerunners such as Wajiro Kon, can become a model but also an inexhaustible source of ideas for the representation of what surrounds us, perhaps with a renewed attention to the aspects of everyday life that we often ignore. The paper aims at giving a panoramic look to both the origins of ROJO and its teachings and subsequent development.
