The research concerns the material resources used to produce mortars, from the Middle Ages to the modern age: limestone, sand and pozzolana but also water and wood. The study was carried out in the awareness that the history of architecture and restoration cannot be separated from an in-depth knowledge of the 'material of the work', and of the places of origin and production of the materials, such as quarries, limestone, etc. The geographical zone of the research is the Marittima, that is the area that extends between the western side of the Lepini Mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea, in southern Lazio. From a methodological and operational point of view, the data collected were organized on a cartographic basis and in analytical-descriptive cards. In particular, on the cartographic basis, the sites of historical-monumental interest (cities, villages, archaeological sites, etc.) and the main and secondary terrestrial and fluvial viability have been identified, differently reported on the basis of main historical phases, in addition to natural resources, functional to subsistence and settlement development.

Abstract
In particular, on the cartographic basis, the sites of historical-monumental interest (cities, villages, archaeological sites, etc.) and the main and secondary terrestrial and fluvial viability have been identified, differently reported on the basis of main historical phases, in addition to natural resources, functional to subsistence and settlement development.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
