Abstract
The socio-economic changes of China's opening up to neoliberal politics and the lack of an established tradition in theories of restoration and reuse undermined the preservation of modern heritage, especially industrial heritage. The synergy between the viscerality of the bottom-up impulses of the artists who began to populate these spaces and the tools of knowledge provided by academia highlighted these critical issues. With the legitimization of bottom-up practices, which arose spontaneously within disused industrial fabrics, the state began to structure cultural or creative industries as a resource that could breathe new life into existing fabrics, with a view to environmental, social and economic sustainability.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
