The essay is part of the volume on the origins of the Roman Campagna and its country houses, castles and villages. The analysis of documentary sources, direct analysis of the surviving structures associated with its study of construction techniques have allowed the identification of several recurrent types of rural facilities dating back to its twelfth-thirteenth century. These plants were, in some cases, the original ones, born in full in the configuration dating from the period examined, in other cases they were the result of change and expansion occurred in the time frame examined and far between even a few decades or, at most, a century. In particular, in this regard, it can be said that the evidence walls seems clearly indicate a significant boost constructive during the thirteenth century, and especially in the first three quarters of the century, characterized by the presence of walls in stone blocks ('tuff' ), often as a supplement, extension, superelevation of existing rural structures, but in any case not made more than a century before. Such supplements are often carried out by following a common type, although in its various phases, with numerous examples from the same period recorded in the Roman Campagna.

Abstract
Such supplements are often carried out by following a common type, although in its various phases, with numerous examples from the same period recorded in the Roman Campagna.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
