PAIR (Pictorial Assessment of Interpersonal Relationships) is a psychological instrument developed to collect and code drawings of close relationships (e.g., friendship, family) and relationships marked by special features, such as contrasting emotions (e.g., joy – sadness) or different social status (e.g., rich–poor). PAIR has proved to be a viable tool for studying children’s representation of their social world in about fifteen years of research, both national and across cultures, which has allowed us to examine at least 10.000 drawings. Although PAIR is not a test for individual use in clinical settings, professionals who have come to know it reported to have developed “a better eye” for appreciating children’s drawings without over-interpreting insignificant details, or over-imposing their personal perspective. PAIR can be reliably applied to subjects between the ages of 6 and 14 years old, and even to younger children if they are familiar with drawing. The instrument comprises six different scales, which can also be used separately.

Abstract
The instrument comprises six different scales, which can also be used separately.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
