The contribution outlines the main aspects of the position "" anti restoration "" the SPAB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings) whose manifesto was published in the June 23, 1877 dellas magazine "" Aetheneum "" under the heading "Fine Arts "and within the industry entitled" Restoration ". The contents of the Manifesto had been anticipated by a series of interventions, partly always published in the journal "" Athenaeum "" in the months prior to the dissemination of the poster itself, with reference to some of the most important restoration 'style' that were performing in England in the same year (among others in the cathedrals of Tewkesbury and St.Alban). Il contributo delinea i principali aspetti della posizione "anti restauro" della SPAB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings) il cui Manifesto fu pubblicato nell’edizione del 23 giugno 1877 dellas rivista "Aetheneum", nella rubrica “Fine Arts” e nell’ambito del settore dal titolo: “Restoration”. I contenuti del Manifesto erano stati anticipati da una serie di interventi, in parte pubblicati sempre sulla rivista "Athenaeum" nei mesi precedenti alla diffusione del manifesto stesso, con riferimento ad alcuni fra i più importanti interventi di restauro 'in stile' che si andavano effettuando in Inghilterra negli stessi anni (fra gli altri nelle cattedrali di Tewkesbury e di St.Alban). La Società prese posizione contro tali tipi di restauro in favore di un approccio maggiormente rispettoso dellpautenticità materiale dei monumenti.
