In this work, the effects of annealing at Ta above and below the Tg of amorphous quenched poly(L-lactide) were investigated by the combination of time resolved FTIR (TR-FTIR) and conventional (DSC) and flash DSC (FSC). At TaTg, TR-FTIR directly evidenced an increase of gt conformer concentration as precursor of 103 helix formation and crystallization. On the other hand, DSC and FSC highlighted the effects of annealing during a subsequent scan. Overall results let hypothesize a further step into the hierarchical pathway of PLLA crystallization mechanism, in which the liquid organizes conformationally before its struc-turing into the crystalline phase.
