Abstract

This presentation defines Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 programme as a policy for sustainable development with Saudi characteristics. The outcomes of Vision 2030 implementation are evaluated at the five-year mark, covering the period from 2016 to 2021. Successes are identifiable in the completion of reforms that set the structural conditions for continuing implementation. The conclusion is reached that Saudi Arabia is serious about implementing Vision 2030, but its ultimate success will depend on a confluence of internal and external factors over the next ten years.
