The contribution provides a summary of the key moments of the development of the complex of St. Agnes Outside the Walls, medieval complex built near the ruins of the great fourth-century cemetery basilica, built by Constantine's daughter, Constance. The medieval complex was repeatedly restored and transformed into the modern age. The paper describes the major transformations of the complex between the fifteenth and sixteenth century, when the basiilca circular form, the roof collapsed, it became an open space surrounded by the remains still in situ, the perimeter wall.
