The importance of tourism in Italy is widely known, being the second country in Europe in terms of hotels facilities supply. Due to the high energy demand of hotels, several researchers investigated solutions to transform them into sustainable and energy efficiencies buildings. Artificial lighting plays a key role in the energy consumption of a building, as highlighted in the literature. To quantify its impact, European standards defined the LENI (Lighting Energy Numerical Indicator), able to evaluate the lighting consumption of a building, taking into account the daylight availability. Currently, the re-lamping strategies is a common practice to obtain high energy savings. However, few works investigate the possibility of applying lighting control strategies of an Italian hotel equipped with LEDs lamps. This study covers this gap, proposing a typical Italian hotel and evaluating the impact of those lighting control systems on electricity consumption. LENICALC software is chosen for carrying out the simulations. Results underlined the benefits of the application of those lighting control techniques, in terms of energy and economic savings for this building typology.

Abstract
Results underlined the benefits of the application of those lighting control techniques, in terms of energy and economic savings for this building typology.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
