Providers of online intermediation services or online search engines within the platform economy are commonly capable to undermine the scope of the business activities conducted by their users, especially by making unilateral, unpredictable or unfair decisions while taking advantages by means of information asymmetries. In this context, Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 on promoting fairness and transparency for business users of online intermediation services aims at regulating, for the first time, the conduct of online platforms, in particular defining new rules on — inter alia — the drafting and the modification of contractual terms and conditions, the determination of transparent ranking parameters and the establishment of internal complaint-handling systems. This essay describes the content of the new regulatory framework introduced by the European legislator and already applicable within the whole Union and reflects on its impact on Platform-to-Business (P2B) relationships in the internal market scenario.

Abstract
This essay describes the content of the new regulatory framework introduced by the European legislator and already applicable within the whole Union and reflects on its impact on Platform-to-Business (P2B) relationships in the internal market scenario.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
