Drawing upon my research on dialogue in historical video games featuring at least one ancient Roman character, this paper attempts to explore the intersection between language, gender, and history as it concerns women, addressing the issue of female linguistic representation in the English versions of the following titles: ‘Asterix & Obelix XXL’ (2003); ‘Shadow of Rome’ (2005); ‘Asterix & Obelix XXL 2: Mission Las Vegum’ (2006); ‘Asterix at the Olympic Games’ (2007); ‘Assassin’s Creed: Origins’ (2017); ‘Asterix & Obelix XXL 3: The Crystal Menhir’ (2019)
