Abstract

The changes in the urban landscape due to the continuous replacement of paper posters on the walls of buildings, doomed of short life, represent an interference in the perception of architecture reserving very suggestive study possibilities. Deeply democratic, thanks to its ephemeral nature, the manifesto offers itself completely to the inhabitants and activates their role in its maintenance, modification or removal. Poster art is an urban element endowed with more lives and innumerable destinies. In its broadest form, from the billboard to the political propaganda to street art, the manifesto goes beyond its primary communicative necessity to become a decorative element of the city, where the word decoration will be studied in its two meanings, the Vitruvian “décor” and the Losian "crime”.
