Le collezioni italiane di manoscritti persiani, presenti in varie città e biblioteche, riflettono i variegati interessi che hanno contribuito alla nascita della persianistica in Italia. Inoltre, essi rappresentano una parte ragguardevole della storia culturale italiana. Molte di queste collezioni si formarono in epoca rinascimentale, con anticipo rispetto alle collezioni di manoscritti persiani, e orientali in genere, in altri paesi europei. Description of the consistency and history of the funds of Persian manuscripts in Italy. The Italian collections of Persian manuscripts, scattered in various cities and distributed between many libraries, are a mirror of the different types of interest that brought forth in the establishment of Persian studies in Italy. Besides, they form a valuable part of the rich Italian cultural history. Many of these collections were gathered early in the Renaissance, before the birth of Persian and - in general - Oriental manuscript collections in the other European countries.
