The article focuses on the political exile of Catholic Christian Democrat Luigi Sturzo, namely in the United States of America starting from October 1940 to August 1946. The article aims to investigate this experience, which was crucial for his political and intellectual biography, considering the network of relationships he built among Italian anti-fascists and US Catholics. Especially, the activities for the institutionalization of the "People and Freedom" groups are mainly analyzed.
