In this article I argue that the widely accepted thesis about the existence of a similarity between Wolff’s ontology and Meinong's theory of objects should be considered with great caution because Wolff and Meinong differ on the question of the nature of impossible objects and of non-existent objects, a question that Meinong considers central for his philosophy.
