This paper, focusing on the theme of the (speaking) subject in Saussurean linguistics and its reception, aims to show that the reconstruction of the links between linguistics and phenomenological 10 reflection became a particularly productive point of observation, through whichin Merleau-Ponty (1908–1960) appears as an acute interpreter both of Cours de linguistique g n rale , and of Pos’ (1898–1955) phenomenology, as well as and of the so-called “late Husserl” (1859–1938) who takes the Lebenswelt as his key concept.
