Budapest is a medium-size city with a population of 1.750.000 inhabitants and a metropolitan area that counts 3 million people. The urban fabric is concentrate on the East part of the city where the public transport is more efficient, but the connection across Buda and Pest is still a great issue at urban scale. The tram network, all four metro lines and the most part of the bike routes represent an urban infrastructure serving the neighborhood of Pest and the suburbs on the east side of the river. The Municipality through the “Balázs Mór Plan Budapest Mobility Plan 2014-2030” extended two metro lines (M1 and M2) and re-design the rail connections between the urban and metropolitan areas to get an uninterrupted system of public transport. The idea at the base of the Plan is to implement an intermodal approach to the urban mobility intensifying the exchange between metro, tram, bus and bike lanes at the urban and metropolitan scale. The network of public transport is overlay by different layers made by point, segments and links of public space to built a new intermodal system. The Balázs Mór Plan is organized by a network of local action defining a new strategy: most of the actions and design projects are low in terms of construction and maintenance costs, but are able to design a new mobility model at the city scale.

Abstract
The Balázs Mór Plan is organized by a network of local action defining a new strategy: most of the actions and design projects are low in terms of construction and maintenance costs, but are able to design a new mobility model at the city scale.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
