Ties (to be the son or the husband) to a princess are a recurring theme in ancient mythology when the hero becomes a king. The legend about Romolo and Remo (sons of Rea Silvia) is comparatively studied against similar Greek myths and against the known history of the first roman kings who gained their power because of a female descendancy or because of a marriage.
