Abstract
One of the outcome of the "Darwinian revolution" is the founding and development of ethology, that is the comparative study of animal behavior. Ethology itself fostered changes in our understanding of non human animals. Thanks to ethology (and above all "cognitive ethology" non human animals can be nowadays regarded as full fledged agents. Recognition of agency in non human animals entails not just scientific consequences, but also practical ones. Animals' moral status should be understood not just limited to the recognition of animal sentience but enlarged to animal agency.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
