This paper focuses on the analysis of the contemporary city in the perspective of the technical-political management of socio-economic and environmental dynamics related to the new urban topic. The XXth century imposed several challenges to the administrators and the policy makers which are currently unresolved, related to individualization phenomena, lack of trust in the institutions and new poverty mechanisms. The configuration of urban and metropolitan space asset appears to be well defined by the dynamics of glocalization which produced a modification in the “physiognomics of the demand” (Secchi, 1999). Beyond the increasing social inequalities, new characters are appearing who bring differential needs that impose an insight on the structure that a new urban welfare is supposed to assume to both experts and political decision makers. The objective of this paper is to highlight how the strengthening of the episthemological position of interdisciplinarity can improve the practices of city and landscape government, configuring as a resource for urban regeneration. In such picture, the multi-agency and multi-level approach could foster bridging and linking social capital forms (Woolcock, 1998; Szreter & Woolcock, 2004) and, through the perspective of participatory city planning (Ciaffi & Mela, 2013), the reuse of already existing resources and a strategic vision, could trigger virtuous processes of territorial re-equilibration. This paper further intends to underscore the relevance that a detailed evaluation of the impact of the different interventions could have on the programming activity and on the utilization of public founding, both in a national and European founding perspective, through the analysis of the regeneration project promoted in a metropolitan level which involved the periurban area in the north-west side of Rome in the scope of the “Suburbs Ban 2016”, with a particular focus on the reconversion of “Forti capitolini” area.

Abstract
This paper further intends to underscore the relevance that a detailed evaluation of the impact of the different interventions could have on the programming activity and on the utilization of public founding, both in a national and European founding perspective, through the analysis of the regeneration project promoted in a metropolitan level which involved the periurban area in the north-west side of Rome in the scope of the “Suburbs Ban 2016”, with a particular focus on the reconversion of “Forti capitolini” area.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
