Financial Stability and the Reconstruction of the EU Legal Order in the Aftermath of the Crisis

This paper examines the role plaid in the context of the responses offered by the EU to the financial crisis by the concept of ‘financial stability of the euro area as a whole’. It emerges as a value and as an objective of the national and EU legal orders, and it is argued it can provide a guiding principle for national and EU bodies and institutions and as a coherence factor from an interpretative point of view.
