Rome was conceived and rethought. From the "City of Science", which Quintino Sella intended to contrast with the "Rome of the popes", to that of globalization, the projects on the Eternal City had to respond to new needs, but also to support the designs of power. In this beginning of the new millennium, however, the city appears rather a continuous lost bet. "Slave of Rome?" retraces the relevant phases of the recent history of the capital, the phenomena of tourism and immigration, the image conveyed by the film industry, recounting its multi-ethnic and multi-religious dimension, questioning the absence of a new planning capable of reading the challenges of the present , and the great movements that have characterized the last few decades.
