Nuove acquisizioni per una definizione dell'opera del Pittore di Del Chiaro e del Gruppo di Nepi

In the first decades of the 4th Century B.C. a Red-Figure production of high quality begins at Falerii Veteres. The study aims to present two new vases attributable to the first phase of this production: an unpublished stamnos preserved at the Penn Museum in Philadelphia, and a kylix recently appeared on the antiquarian market. These new attributions lead us to a better definition of the work of one of the first Faliscan painters, the Del Chiaro Painter (390-380 B.C.), surely an immigrant Attic craftsman. Furthermore, the stylistic features of these two examples allow us to recognize a close connection with the vases traditionally referred to the Nepi Group, which are instead to be attributed to the hand of the same painter.
