The primary aim is to select and qualify some key elements for a sociology of the network and of the networking. Constantly joining the theoretical and the empirical analysis, special attention will be paid to the mutation and repetition of notions and analytical concepts such as structure and process, shape and pattern, global dimension and local context, personal and collective cultural identity, political subjectivity, institutions and social organizations. It is well known that the fundamental premise of the network approach is that people are seen as interacting with other people, some of whom in turn interact with each other and with the others, and the total network of relationships formed is in a state of fluidity (Boissevain, 1973). The challenge of this digression is to identify in the sociological fluidity the anthropological soundness of the cultural vision and of the social practices of the network society.
