Over the course of his long career and beyond his more popularly recognized role as an engineer, the construction companies he managed took considerable benefits from the production of his innovative building techniques. But the industrial typology also gave him uninhibited access to field-testing for a variety of technical inventions that secured his reputation worldwide.
