Sustainable design has been a global topic of common concern in recent years. However, Chinese sustainable design courses have not yet formed a complete discipline system. As Stuart Walker has argued, no one knows exactly what a sustainable world would be, and it's hard to acknowledge exactly what kind of design education can promote sustainable development. In other words, the form of sustainable education cannot be limited by design framework. Only perfecting the cognition of its pattern can we approach the goal of sustainable development gradually. Therefore, this paper makes a systematic analysis of Chinese traditional sustainable design concept from the aspects of ecological consciousness, business model, social value orientation and design realization. Combined with the theory of contemporary excellent sustainable design, it also explores the pattern of Chinese contemporary product design education.
