Introduction to a collective volume on Cicero's reception as a political, philosopher, rhetoric model, from his times to the XIXth century. In the first centuries of Christian era he was appreciated as a master of rhetoric; in the Medieval times he was considered a philosopher or even a saint, in modern and contemporary times he is appreciated as a politician, but he also becomes the protagonist of several novels as a detective.

Introduzione ad un volume miscellaneo sulla fortuna della figura di Cicerone come uomo politico, filosofo, maestro di retorica, dai suoi contemporanei '900. Se nei primi secoli della nostra era prevaleva il maestro di retorica, e nel Medioevo il filosofo maestro di vita, in età moderna e contemporanea viene valorizzato l'uomo politico, mentre diventa anche protagonista di non poche fiction poliziesche, sotto le spoglie di un detective.
