L'insegnamento della Geometria Descrittiva e delle sue applicazioni

The history of the teaching of Descriptive Geometry and its Applications in the Faculty of Architecture is dominated by the figures of three Masters: Francesco Severi, Enrico Bompiani and Orseolo Fasolo. It is necessary that I state a fact before making any other considerations: I have known, both personally and academically, only the last of the three, who is for me the connecting link between the present and the past of the Faculty. A link might seem inappropriate with regard to the objectivity of the history that I am going to recall and to some possible judgement, but perhaps it is not: first of all because my source is authoritative, secondly because the academic teaching reflect itself in the culture, when it is passionate as the teaching of the aforesaid three teachers was. In this solemn occasion it is, therefore, right not only to consider the vicissitude of a science and its evolution, but also the feelings of its protagonists.
