This essay aims to investigate the theme of the “User-Centered Design” starting from two main trends that have evolved throughout history: the first, focused on the architecture as a ‘measure’ of human activity and the second, based on the relations of the built environment with the ‘experiential dimensions’ of the user. The proposed method places the users’ needs at the core of the design process. Through the definition of design requirements and criteria, it is explored the possibilities to characterize the human works on the city for healthy osmosis between users’ physical, psychological, and cultural needs with the project specifications aimed to safeguard the safety, health and psychophysical integrity of the inhabitants.

Abstract
This essay aims to investigate the theme of the “User-Centered Design” starting from two main trends that have evolved throughout history: the first, focused on the architecture as a ‘measure’ of human activity and the second, based on the relations of the built environment with the ‘experiential dimensions’ of the user. The proposed method places the users’ needs at the core of the design process. Through the definition of design requirements and criteria, it is explored the possibilities to characterize the human works on the city for healthy osmosis between users’ physical, psychological, and cultural needs with the project specifications aimed to safeguard the safety, health and psychophysical integrity of the inhabitants.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
